468 Field Trip can help support learning and community engagement for a variety of education environments – from a social studies class that creates its own history app to schools needing a companion app for field trips and events.
In 2016, Lopez Island Middle School students literally made history in their Northwest History class. Using 468 Field Trip, the students created their Washington State Insider app to reward people for seeking out unique, historic places around Washington State. Led by history teacher Anthony Rovente, the students selected heritage-based locations, conducted historical research about each site, and wrote content for each to be included in their app. Users of the app can earn discounted entry to the Washington State History Museum. St. John Catholic School in Seattle used 468 Field Trip to create a companion app for their students’ annual social studies trips – across Washington State and to Washington, D.C.
